Weekend Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 60 year old gentleman and I live in my own flat in Rhoose. I am visually impaired I enjoy going out for a coffee and socialising when I am able to. I am looking for someone who can support me at home and within the local community. I like watching documentaries at home. I also attend dialysis 3 times per week.
PURPOSE OF JOB
The purpose of the job is to help me maintain my independence and to facilitate me to get out and about for social outings. It involves making sure I am safe as I will need to be guided and advised of potential hazards. I may also need you to do some general housework and to prepare meals for me.
PLACE OF WORK
At my home and out and about locally
HOURS OF WORK
There are 4 hours per week to be worked on the weekend
RATE OF PAY
£12.70 per hour
TASKS INVOLVED
Light domestic housework
Shopping
Making hot drinks
Social
Basic Computer work (Not essential)
Driving me in my Motability vehicle
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
A full clean manual driving license to drive my car is essential
Over 25 years old and clean driving licence for insurance purposes
Someone who has patience to understand my disability and learn the best way of assisting me
A person who is dependable and arrives on time
A person who respects privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else’s home
A person with a positive commitment to this kind of work
A person who is flexible and who could provide support on short notice
A person who is friendly and good company with a good sense of humour.
ABOUT THE JOB
This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority.
All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.
Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period.
Wages will be paid on a four-weekly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
