Job Purpose/Objectives of a Technical Manager
To carry out site visits at the request of the customer in order to convert every site visit into a Hire Contract, thereby maximising the utilisation and profitability of the Depot
Key Responsibilities:
1. Liaise with customers at all levels in order to affect the best lifting solution.
2. Produce high quality site surveys including job specific method statements, technical drawings and risk assessments that meet and exceed industry regulations and guidelines.
3. Ensure that the highest standards of Health and Safety are met and maintained regardless of commercial pressures.
4. Take ownership of all work from inception to completion.
5. Promote the company at every opportunity.
6. Ensure that all work is prioritised and therefore delivered to the customer in a timely manner.
7. Provide the depot with technical expertise and to assist with general depot duties.
8. Continually seek to improve the way in which the role operates within the business to achieve its objectives.
9. To be fully conversant with all company products offered.
Person specification
Education/Knowledge/Experience
10. Minimum A*-C GCSE in Maths and English.
11. Full UK Driving Licence - Essential
12. CPCS Appointed Person A61 Blue Card – Essential.
13. CPCS Crane Supervisor A62 Blue Card – Desirable.
14. CPCS Slinger/Signaller A40 Blue Card – Desirable.
15. Previous experience working as an Appointed Person.
16. Experience within Cranes and Contract Lift.
17. Health & Safety Management
18. Proven track record of working to clearly defined plans.
19. Evidence of delivery of continuous improvement within a customer service environment.
20. Local geographical knowledge
21. Good transport/logistical knowledge
Skills/Abilities
22. IT Literate – comfortable using all Microsoft packages as well as AUTOCAD.
23. Ability to influence and persuade stakeholders.
24. Ability to deal with conflict and negotiate as well as manage the appropriate outcome.
25. Good time-management skills.
26. Organised with the ability to simplify complex issues.
27. Able to communicate effectively at all levels, both in verbal and written form
