Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Turner with the ability to program, set, and operate CNC lathes to produce precision components. The ideal candidate will be capable of working with minimal supervision, interpret engineering drawings, and have a keen eye for detail and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Programming CNC lathes using Fanuc control and making small batch work.
Setting and preparing machines for operation, including tool setup, offsets, and fixtures.
Operating CNC lathes to produce components to tight tolerances and specified requirements.
Interpreting and working from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Inspecting finished components using precision measuring equipment to ensure they meet quality standards.
Making necessary adjustments to programs and setups to improve performance and maintain accuracy.
Carrying out routine machine maintenance and ensuring the work area is clean and safe.
Collaborating with the production team to meet deadlines and improve processes.
Proactively identifying and troubleshooting machining issues.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven experience as a CNC Turner with programming, setting, and operating capabilities.
Proficiency in CNC programming using Fanuc Fanuc controls and lathes.
Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Skilled in using precision measuring tools
Experience with a variety of materials
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of health and safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering / CNC Machining.
Apprenticeship in CNC machining or a related field.
