Are you skilled in customer service? Join this team dedicated to aiding vulnerable individuals in managing energy bills and staying warm during winter. You don't need exact experience in this role before, as this charity can provide training.
The role involves providing in-home visits throughout Kent & Medway. Tasks include offering advice, installing energy-saving measures like low-energy light bulbs and draft proofing, and making referrals to other support services. You will also provide support around bill changing if this can reduce costs.
You will get your own company van to drive for work for visits (it's a small one, almost like a car/van). You will make around 3 visits per day, with each visit lasting around an hour and a half in total. The region is the whole of Kent, but your appointments are set up by the team to ensure they make sense travel-wise (i.e., all on a similar route/within relative proximity).
To apply for this role, the charity is looking for people who have:
1. Worked within energy/utility services, so you might have been a home meter reader or similar for an energy, gas, or water company. You would be used to visiting people's houses to perform set tasks.
2. Worked in a contact centre for a utilities company, so are used to dealing with customer queries of a similar kind.
3. Worked in a role that involves visiting vulnerable clients for home visits, such as a supported housing officer, income recovery officer, outreach worker, etc.
4. Graduates with environmental-related degrees looking to get a foot on the energy/environmental ladder.
The role is initially offered as a 12-month contract, but it is likely to extend (people on previous contracts have all recently been extended). It's a great role, and you will know you have made a difference. A driving licence is essential for this post.
Please apply via this advert. We aim to get back to everyone. If by chance you haven't had a response, please call the office and ask for David, or if you just want to talk to someone about the role (number on the Red 5 People website), or use the Contact Us page on the Red 5 People website.
