This position involves a range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring compliance with the Company's Assurance objectives and maintaining food safety standards. The key responsibilities include:
1. Reporting to the Technical Manager on overall conformance with the Company's Assurance objectives.
2. Acting in a conscientious manner, putting the Company interests first and encouraging others to do so.
3. Communicating effectively with superiors and subordinates.
4. Reporting any breakdown or failure in the Quality Control procedures that result in failure to meet specifications or food safety.
5. Conducting thorough and detailed compliance checks on a daily basis within each factory department and reporting any non-conformances directly to managers and supervisors.
6. Conducting internal auditing of Glass & Hard Plastic, Maintenance, GMP, Locker checks, Paperwork audits, and staff handwashing as per the defined schedule.
7. Collecting DNA Swabs twice a week and sending them to IDENTIGEN via TNT / FEDEX.
8. Monitoring temperatures on a daily basis.
9. Conducting weekly data logger tests on offals and beef in chills.
10. Filing and storing all quality management paperwork for easy retrieval in audit situations.
11. Performing pre-operation hygiene checks in the abattoir & boning hall on a daily basis.
12. Taking and collating micro samples (carcase swabs, water samples, environmental swabs, meat samples, shelf life samples) for sending to the lab and submitting via the lab portal, ensuring results are printed, inspected, and trended appropriately.
13. Verifying all probes & thermometers on a monthly basis.
14. Conducting site PACCP PH testing on a daily basis in chills and cutting rooms.
15. Auditing the Quality Assurance Manual, Operational Procedure Manual, BRC System, HACCP, Factory Fabric, Cleaning, and Hygiene as per schedule.
16. Verifying compliance and completion of factory quality paperwork.
17. Maintaining site calibration certification via the calibration register and organizing for equipment to be calibrated when due.
18. Assisting in completing traceability exercises as required by customers and the internal schedule.
19. Ensuring that any non-conformances raised during internal, third-party, OV, and group audits are actioned within the agreed timescale.
20. Maintaining the site suppliers and service providers list within the three-yearly approval cycle and ensuring new suppliers are approved in a timely manner.
21. Completing and actioning customer complaints received in a timely manner.
22. Investigating the root cause of complaints where details supplied allow this.
23. Issuing, rescinding, and verifying quality documentation to be used on site.
24. Ensuring that food safety practices are incorporated in daily production of products.
25. Ensuring all daily production checks and record sheets/QA sheets are completed properly within the required time frame.
26. Auditing products and ensuring product specifications (including carrying out duties according to the company HACCP plan).
27. Calculating and recording information, either manually or through computerized data entry, and carrying out associated administration & filing.
28. Ensuring internal audits carried out against the audit schedule are accurate and on time.
29. Being involved with onsite customer and third-party auditors.
30. Providing technical support where required (e.g., visits, audits, trials, etc.).
31. Carrying out any other reasonable requests by the management team and providing support to the Technical Manager upon request.
