Swansea University's thriving Media and Communication department is looking for a talented and enthusiastic lecturer in Sports Communication. Our academic Sports Communication provision encompasses sports journalism, sports commentary, podcasts, sports content creation and PR, as well as a curriculum that examines the socio-cultural impact that sport has on society in the UK and globally.
We are therefore looking to recruit an individual that is experienced (either as a practitioner or as an academic) in some or all of these specialisms, and who will play a key role in the development and delivery of modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and will build on and/or develop a portfolio of high-quality research outputs.
We encourage our academic staff to develop innovative modules and assessment methodologies that reflect scholarly and practical developments in the field of sports media. Our departmental ethos can be summarised as being research-led, practice-driven and teaching-focused. We are therefore looking for a dedicated team-player who will enjoy being part of a vibrant, dynamic and progressive department, and whose knowledge, experience and professionalism will ignite the imaginations and creativity of our students.
The successful candidate will be able to bring the academic interrogation of sports communication to life for our students through an innovative approach to teaching, and with a curriculum that welcomes industry connections into the classroom wherever possible.
