The Procurement Manager is responsible for managing the purchasing and stock control of all non-meat products for the Vantage Foods site, including packaging, ingredients, sundries, and key service contracts. The role also supports group wholesale to assist purchasing for the sundries sales department. A key focus is ensuring 100% service levels while minimising waste and optimising stock levels.

Responsibilities:
* Manage the purchasing of non-meat-based products, including packaging, ingredients, and sundries.
* Negotiate and maintain contracts with suppliers to ensure the best possible pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
* Oversee the procurement of key service contracts for site operations.
* Collaborate with the group wholesale team to support sundries sales and align on purchasing strategies.
* Ensure efficient group-wide purchasing processes for non-meat products, identifying opportunities for cost savings and optimisation.
* Take full ownership of stock control for non-meat products, ensuring optimal inventory levels to meet a 100% service level.
* Implement strategies to minimise waste, balancing supply and demand efficiently.
* Monitor stock levels and adjust orders to prevent overstocking or shortages, ensuring seamless operations.
* Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives for non-meat products that align with the company’s long-term goals.
* Continuously evaluate market trends to capitalise on cost, quality, and innovation opportunities, including all important legislative reporting of environmental impacts packaging has on the business.
* Manage the budget for non-meat product procurement, ensuring that expenditure aligns with financial targets.
* Regularly track and report on supply chain performance, making adjustments as needed to control costs and improve efficiency.
* Work closely with internal teams, including planning, production, sales, and finance, to ensure alignment on stock requirements and purchasing plans.
* Provide leadership in resolving any supply chain issues that may affect production or sales.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience in supply chain management, with a focus on non-meat products, such as packaging, ingredients, and sundries.
* Strong expertise in stock control and waste management, with the ability to ensure 100% service levels while minimizing excess inventory.
* Excellent negotiation skills and experience in supplier management.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and departments.
* Analytical thinking and the ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in the food industry, especially FMCG
* Previous experience in group purchasing environments is an advantage.
