An exciting opportunity to join our dynamic nurse-led TB team based on the beautiful South Coast at University Hospitals Dorset.
We are looking for a highly experiencedTB Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)orAdvanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) who demonstrates advanced levels of clinical and managerial competence and confidence. You will have a proven ability to work automatously and within a multi-disciplinary team in both primary and secondary care settings where you will develop, deliver, and help coordinate comprehensive TB services across East Dorset.
You will be expected to travel and work between clinical and non-clinical sites and must be prepared to travel across Dorset to deliver care as and when required. As this will involve unplanned travel away from public transport routes you must have a full UK drivers’ licence, be a competent and confident driver and have daily access to a road worthy and business insured car.

Clinically, you will investigate and diagnose TB, LTBI and NTM diseases;synthesising results and information from multiple sources to develop highly complex plans of care.You willprescribe and supervise treatments, risk assess and deliver contact tracing and TB incident management, demonstrating high levels of competence.
You will support the development of new-entrant TB screening programmes and deliver BCG vaccinations as and when needed.
Under the supervision of the TB Consultant Nurse, you will manage the TB Service’s daily operations which includes line-managing junior colleagues, triage, and action referrals, providing nurse led outpatient and telephone clinics and performing ward as well as community outreach and home visits. You must be a confident teacher, a strong advocate and computer literate. You must have excellent communication abilities with clear spoken and written English language and ability to facilitate and chair interdisciplinary meetings at both local and regional levels. Candidates are advised to provide evidence of clinical and service development and innovation.
