Job Description:
Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will oversee the financial and contractual aspects of our Rail, Civils, and Groundworks projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Management: Prepare, monitor, and control project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and value for money.
Contract Administration: Manage contracts, including preparation, negotiation, and administration of subcontractor agreements.
Measurement and Valuation: Conduct accurate measurements and valuations of work done, preparing interim and final accounts.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with contractual and legal requirements.
Reporting: Provide regular financial reports and updates to project stakeholders, highlighting any variances and proposing corrective actions.
Procurement: Oversee the procurement process, including sourcing and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
Site Visits: Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, assess work quality, and ensure adherence to project specifications.
Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless project delivery.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Professional membership with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or similar is preferred.
Proven experience in quantity surveying within the civil engineering sector, particularly in Rail, Civils, and Groundworks projects.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and financial management.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., MS Office, cost management software).Benefits:
