We are looking for a new Production Operations Manager to lead the manufacturing staff and take our production systems to the next level, a highly visible and inclusive leader, reporting to the Site General Manager. You will inspire positive change and drive efficiency within a modern, purpose-built manufacturing site. You will help drive a cultural change programme, so it's not a BAU role.
You will be at the forefront of leading a dedicated, highly skilled and diverse team. Your role isn't just to lead – it's to improve, challenge, transform, empower, mentor, and win! Every day!
Working closely with the site General Manager and leadership team, you will also be responsible for helping deliver the site's strategy, KPIs and sustainability goals.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Ensuring the effective running of the Production function on a day-to-day basis and the development of the team and department to deliver the site’s Production Plan in line with Divisional/Group initiatives to achieve service excellence.
2. Responsible for driving HSER standards through the use of all Leadership in action tools.
3. Responsible for driving productivity through effective monitoring of process performance to ensure the production plan can be delivered.
4. Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, sharing internal and external information, and acting as the main liaison for other areas of the business to provide a united service to customers.
5. Direct line management of senior production team members including performance management, absence management and reporting.
6. Ensure adequate cover within the team at all times to support and relieve pressure while delivering on internal and external requirements.
7. Works closely with the Engineering manager to ensure asset reliability is delivered through adherence to planned maintenance.
What we would like to see:
1. Must have experience of managing teams in a manufacturing environment.
2. Strong understanding of lean process and experience in lean manufacturing environments.
3. Strong/proven leadership skills and experience. Able to lead and inspire teams.
4. Specific knowledge and experience of Operational Management.
