We are currently recruiting for permanent EDS Engineering Workshop Technician to be based at our Basildon site. The main purpose of the role is to support the EDS design team with diagnostics, repair, reworking and sample manufacture of vehicle wiring harnesses. Duties & Responsibilities: Rework of prototype harnesses and vehicles based on WSR’s, PR’s, rework sheets, detail drawings and specifications. Manufacture of sample harnesses to support special actions, prototype build changes / issues and package trials based on sketches, drawings and mark ups. Keep clear records of work carried out. Support test board assembly, fault diagnosis, rework and repair. With help from prototype coordinator and systems engineers. Provide prototype build support when necessary due to absence of prototype coordinator or high workload. Assist DVP team with vehicle and testboard DVP testing when required. Order and maintain stock of commonly used connector, terminals, seals, wire, clips, grommets etc to aid above tasks. Main contact for health and safety for workshop area in Southfields office. Responsible for tools and workshop equipment stock, replacement and maintenance. Keep clear records of work carried out. Follow Yazaki Quality Management System (QMS) as defined in the Quality Management Handbook Requirements Knowledge of how to read and apply drawings, sketches and circuit diagrams Extensive knowledge of vehicle EDS Vehicle electrical system diagnostics and ratification Experienced in reworking and producing vehicle wiring harnesses Ability to work well both independently and as part of a diverse team Good time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks Excellent communication skills in written & verbal English Self-sufficient, self-motivated and proactive Proficient with Microsoft office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook High attention to detail Full valid driving licence to drive in the UK Right to work in the UK Please note that Yazaki do not offer work permits, visas or sponsorships.
