The aim is always to do this in ways that are accurate and cost-effective, using market research and data analysis to pay music makers fairly for the use of their recordings by broadcasters and in public places like shops, bars and restaurants. What you’ll be doing: You will enable PPL to accurately pay out money to music makers for the use of their recordings by identifying and utilising relevant data to calculate the value of payments to performers and record companies in the UK and around the world. Key Responsibilities will include: • Establishing effective working relationships with colleagues across different teams at PPL, including Finance, Licensing, and Repertoire. • Building an understanding of relevant distribution rules, policy, and reporting requirements and applying this knowledge to ensure that distributions are accurate and timely. • Contributing to the development and implementation of new or improved distribution policies through data analysis and market research. • Supporting the gathering, recording, and interpretation of data from suppliers, customers, market research, and other sources, as an aid to accurate and effective distribution policy. • Delivering distribution statistics to enable more accurate forecasting and results checking throughout the year. • Supporting timely and thorough updating of all distribution policy and process documentation and where appropriate uploading to Process Hub (Confluence). What you’ll need: • Experience of gathering, recording, interpreting, and reporting data analysis findings. • Attention to detail, with a good eye for spotting anomalies and patterns in data. • Competency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. • Awareness of effective research skills for data analysis or building subject matter knowledge.
