Job Summary: Provide advice, assistance and support to young people in a residential home, delivering Baca's service in line with our Vision and Values. A consistent adult presence in the home, supporting their practical and emotional needs and helping to teach them how to manage and look after a home.
Responsibilities:
* Welcome newly arrived young people into the accommodation.
* Actively support young people to make progress and develop in physical wellbeing, emotional wellbeing, personal safety, education and learning, employment and training, and social engagement.
* Be an excellent and positive role model, offering advice, guidance and assistance.
* Train young people in living skills such as washing, personal safety, cleaning, cooking and food safety.
* Provide emotional support at times of difficulty, anxiety or stress.
* Encourage young people to settle into and maintain a healthy routine.
* Act as a co-keyworker for the young people to ensure their support plans and progress are up to date.
* Enable young people to live with positive values and good boundaries.
* Work collaboratively with the rest of the Rebuild Team to safeguard and support young people.
* Maintain very good communication with relevant members of the Rebuild Team and social workers.
* Ensure regular reporting requirements are met.
* Complete and update all admin work.
* Develop knowledge and understanding in areas relevant to the role.

Personal Specification:
Baca is looking for a Support Worker who is passionate about seeing unaccompanied young refugees achieve their potential and rebuild their lives. The successful applicant will have a personal style that is in line with Baca's vision and values. They will live in the new arrival house and make it their home. They will be a good self-starter and have excellent interpersonal skills. An enhanced DBS check will be required.
