To support the SI central gate governance and drive the embedment and continuous improvement of processes;
As the Portfolio Process, Change & Governance Lead, you will support the projects going through their gate governance by providing central assurance, and drive the embedment and continuous improvement of SI's project minimum requirements and portfolio processes and procedures which form a pan-SI delivery methodology for projects and programmes, helping National Grid Strategic Infrastructure deliver some of the biggest, most exciting projects in green energy.
The role includes communication and training; delivering training and coaching to SI’s project and programme delivery community. Also includes analysis of data to monitor compliance with SI's minimum requirements and implement change control of improvement initiatives to SI processes and guidance.
National Grid continues to offer hybrid working from office and home and are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.
About you

* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
* Proven experience in change management, governance, and project delivery within large scale infrastructure projects, ideally in the energy sector.
* Strong knowledge of electricity transmission or similar industries, with a deep understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
* Extensive experience in managing complex stakeholder relationships and leading cross-functional teams.
* Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
* Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and drive evidence-based decision making.
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
* Ability to travel to project sites as required.
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
* Detail oriented, with a strong commitment to delivering high quality work.
* Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What you'll do
Change Control Data Management:
* Consolidate and standardize change control data at the portfolio level.
* Ensure consistency in change management processes across onshore and offshore programmes.
* Support programme leads in implementing and adhering to standardized change control procedures.
Process Improvement and Version Control:
* Work with the relevant departments to facilitate, coordinate and change control the revisions for Strategic Infrastructure’s change initiatives including revisions to business processes (BP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
* Collaborate with National Grid's corporate approval bodies to align SI’s approach with NG group processes.
* Exercise editorial control over project processes and guidance content, ensuring they are up-to-date and aligned with best practices.
Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination:
* Engage with other Strategic Infrastructure and National Grid improvement initiatives to ensure alignment and coherence in meeting business needs.
* Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the organization to facilitate smooth implementation of change initiatives.
Performance Data Analysis:
* Work with the Reporting team for the collation and analysis of complex performance data to identify underlying causes of performance issues and opportunities for improvement.
* Scope, plan, and execute improvement initiatives based on data-driven insights.
Training and Mentoring:
* Deliver comprehensive training courses and 1:1 training sessions to project delivery teams, including on-site visits.
* Provide ongoing process and guidance support, mentoring teams to ensure adherence to SI project and programme management methodologies.
* Capture and disseminate best practices to enhance the overall competency of the project delivery teams.
Continuous Improvement:
* Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing innovative solutions to enhance project delivery efficiency.
* Lead workshops and forums to gather feedback and ideas for process enhancements from cross-functional teams.
What you'll get
A competitive salary of up to £75,000 dependant on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
