Job summary
This role is to develop and implement Clinical Risk Management activities that support the safe development and use of Digital Health Applications and IT Systems within the Trust. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all Digital Health Applications and IT System developed by the Trust conform to DCB 0129 - the Manufacture of Health Systems. They will also be responsible for ensuring that all Digital Health Applications and IT Systems procured/ developed by the Trust meet the requirements of DCB 0160 - the Deployment and Use of Health IT Systems across the organisation. The post-holder will be responsible for leading Clinical Governance within Digital Health including close liaison with the Patient Safety Team. The post holder will be involved in reporting, investigating, and resolving clinical safety incidents and making recommendations on the safety of Digital Health Applications and IT Systems.
This post is fixed term, however existing Trust employees are welcome to apply as a secondment providing they have agreement from their current line manager before they apply.
Main duties of the job
1. Lead, promote and support the Application of Patient Safety Risk Management to: The deployment and use of Health IT Systems - DCB 0160; The Manufacture of Health IT Systems - DCB 0129.
2. Establish new coherent and comprehensive set of business processes to direct and control resources to optimally manage clinical safety throughout the lifecycle of software products within the Digital Health Applications Portfolio, from procurement (or development) through to decommissioning.
3. Lead, direct, and embed the use of Digital Health Applications across the Trust to improve clinical safety, with patient safety being the overarching priority.
4. Develop, maintain, and refine robust systems and processes for identifying and addressing patient safety risks associated with Digital Health Applications and IT Systems.
5. Maintain and manage the Trust's CRMS, ensuring that any processes and procedures are adhered to, policies are updated, ratified, and cascaded to the appropriate stakeholders.
6. Provide guidance, expert advice, and support with regards to Digital Health clinical risk management practice.
7. Monitor compliance with the CRMS for Digital Health Applications and IT Systems through audits.
8. Run Risk Identification workshops, to identify potential hazards associated with the deployment and use of Digital Health Applications and IT Systems.

* Clinical Professional Registration (E.g. NMC, Allied Health Professional)
* First degree or equivalent in a health-related subject
* Continuing professional development and reflective profile
Desirable
* Master's or equivalent in a health-related subject OR Equivalent training and on the job experience
* Quality Improvement Certification
* PRINCE 2 or equivalent
* Formal leadership and management training
Experience
Essential
* Management and Leadership experience within the NHS or similar
* Experience in clinical risk management
* Experience in delivering and implementing new policies, procedures, and ways of working
* Recent clinical experience and experience of daily operational working in a service setting
* Experience of managing staff from different professional backgrounds
Desirable
* Knowledge and Experience of DCB 0129 and DCB 0160
* Experience of implementing Trust wide Digital Health Applications and IT Systems
