This is a secondment/acting-up opportunity for 12 months to cover maternity leave
An exciting development opportunity has arisen within the General Surgical Unit and the Surgical Assessment Unit at the RBH. We are offering a secondment/acting-up opportunity for an experienced nurse into the Band 7 Ward Sister/Charge Nurse role on the GSU and SAU.
GSU has 44 beds, 4 of which are enhanced care beds. GSU delivers pre and post-operative care to patients with upper and lower GI conditions. The ward has a high acuity, so experience in clinical skills is essential. The Surgical Assessment has 13 trolleys and 6 chairs for emergency surgical admissions and emergency ambulatory care. The successful candidate should be an experienced Band 6 or equivalent in an acute environment.

Main duties of the job
The role of the successful candidate will be to consistently drive excellent clinical quality standards by providing visible clinical leadership to the team and support them in the delivery of high-quality, effective, and evidence-based care. Focus will be on patient experience, patient safety, and providing assurance that standards are met for every patient, every time.
