We are looking for an outstanding and experienced Houseparent to act in loco parentis and to sustain and develop our reputation for exceptional pastoral care of each individual pupil.
Derry is one of two senior girls’ Houses for pupils aged 13-18, in a fully co-educational school. The House has enjoyed enormous success academically, in sport and in the strength of the relationships between the girls and House staff and including the parental body. The instantly recognisable green of their House hoodies, for example, is often in evidence, a testament to the House spirit and loyalty, and to the fiercely competitive nature of the team. Derry occupies most of the upper north wing of the school’s main building, and girls are accommodated in a mixture of shared and individual studies. Girls are a mixture of full, weekly, flexi, and day pupils, who board occasionally.
The Houseparent is accommodated in a large flat within the body of the House with an office in a separate location within Derry; and he/she is supported by a resident Assistant, who also has accommodation within the House.
