About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with experience from Water Utilities or Utilities Civils background to manage directly employed staff with an element of subcontractor management. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the project in its entirety and must be competent in managing six aspects of this project i.e. scope, schedule, cost versus revenue, risk, quality and resources. The role is covering projects mainly in the West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire Region mainly.
Responsibilities:
1. Auditing performance
2. Preparing and presenting TBT
3. Resolving problems and implementing improvements
4. Driving Near miss / Close Call reporting through E20
5. Managing training requirements/needs
6. Defining the project scope
7. Dealing with any HR related issues and holidays
8. Interaction with customers and clients
9. Stakeholder management
10. Managing resources such as construction materials, construction workers, and equipment
11. Allocating and managing resource logistics
12. Creating status reports for project stakeholders
13. Overseeing the performance of the general contractor, site manager and other members of the construction team
14. Maintaining health and safety standards
15. Developing a construction schedule, with project deliverables and milestones
16. Keeping inventory of tools, equipment, and machinery
Core Responsibilities:
1. To ensure staffing levels meet the needs of the project, checking peaks and troughs in workloads, holidays and absence levels.
2. To undertake the day-to-day management, co-ordination and supervision of the team.
3. To produce and implement site specific risk assessments and method statements where appropriate.
4. To promote safe working practices, ensuring full implementation and compliance with safety policy.
5. Review performance in operations, customer and safety and carry out any toolbox talks, task briefs and Safety Alert briefs.
6. To identify and communicate to Stores and Logistics, the requirements for ordering any site deliverables and the timely returns of goods receipts notices as instructed.
7. To identify and communicate to Stores and Logistics, the requirements for ordering any site plant, including security and timely off-hire as instructed.
8. To assist and support the senior leadership team in ensuring contract compliance with statutory legislation, Company Standards, processes and procedures.
9. To ensure that all planned Safety Audits and Inspections are completed in accordance with the approved programme.
10. Responsible for the timely rectification and closure of any actions stemming from safety audits and inspections undertaken.
11. To ensure that accident / incident reporting and investigations are undertaken in a timely manner as instructed and in accordance with the safety management system, and that issues arising are addressed in a timely manner.
12. To ensure that stipulated PPE is worn by all staff in compliance with mandated procedures and legislation.
13. To ensure mandatory training and competency certification for all site staff are valid and copies available.
14. To deliver on-site training in the form of toolbox talks, daily site briefings to ensure all site staff are aware of their responsibilities, procedures to be followed and specific hazards.
15. To ensure all regulatory data and job specifications are done checked and fed back to a high standard.
16. Ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
17. Evaluate project performance.
About you:
Background in: Project Management/Civils ideally from Waste Water Pipelaying and installation.
Management Skills: The ability to supervise and lead a delivery team.
Systems: Competent in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Health, Safety & Environment: The ability to assess the impact our operations have on Health & Safety matters. Thorough knowledge of H & S policies/procedures and safe systems of work.
Operational Understanding: Comprehensive experience, understanding, and qualifications/accreditations in accordance with the role being undertaken to deliver contractual commitments, operational and safety requirements.
