Job summary We are looking for an experienced Senior Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to lead our inpatient therapy team at Alton Community Hospital. The hospital provides rehabilitation, community step up and end of life care to adults from across Mid and North Hampshire. The post holder will have experience in rehab, people management and leadership and also a strong focus on improving patient outcomes. You will need to work flexibly between hands on clinical care, supervision and management. Main duties of the job To provide clinical and professional therapy leadership to the Therapy Inpatient Rehab Team, and to provide support to the Ward Managers in ensuring that the inpatient therapy teams contribute to the implementation of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (HIOWH) governance strategies. Undertake advanced specialist therapeutic assessments (appropriate to clinical qualification and profession) of patients with diverse and complex conditions, providing a clinical diagnosis (where appropriate), development, and delivery of individualised treatment programmes. To support the case management process by providing expert clinical advice and therapy to patients with a variety of complex conditions within our inpatient rehabilitation units who are at risk of deteriorating health that may result in declining quality of life or avoidable acute hospital admission or an unnecessary longer length of stay. To lead their team, working to ensure effective operational performance within the appropriate budgetary constraints. To take responsibility for the operational management of their team including recruitment and selection, appraisal, CPD and disciplinary procedures. To provide strong clinical leadership and presence, which inspires, motivates and empowers the team and promotes a structure of clear authority and credibility, embedding a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement within their area of responsibility.
