Essential Job Functions:
* Develop site-specific Intelligent Automation roadmaps with leadership, including digital solutions, machine learning, and leveraging commonality of technical solutions across sites.
* Design and implement process optimization strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time, and improve product quality, working closely with technical systems engineers.
* Analyze manufacturing processes, identify improvements, recommend technological solutions, and manage project documentation and validation activities.
* Manage laboratory experiments, pilot studies, and technology transfer activities, including external vendors.
* Develop and implement playbooks for automation solutions in collaboration with team members.
* Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and drive root cause analysis to improve equipment effectiveness.
* Maintain relationships with various departments to align strategies and goals.
* Mentor and build engineering capabilities in automation technologies, including training and skills assessment.
* Ensure automation solutions drive value through increased asset utilization, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction.
* Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
* Travel: 25% to 30% of the time.
Required Education and Experience:
* BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing/Process, or Computer Engineering/Software Systems.
* At least 15 years of progressive engineering experience in manufacturing, automation, and project engineering, preferably in regulated industries.
* Minimum of 5 years experience in Intelligent Automation solutions, including machine learning, vision, controls, AI, and data analytics.
* Knowledge of process optimization, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and statistical analysis.
* Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Education and Experience:
* MS in Mechanical, Manufacturing/Process, or Computer Engineering/Software Systems.
* Project Management or Industry 4.0 certifications.
* Proficiency in process analysis, modelling, and automation systems.
* Experience with process improvement tools like Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping.
* Knowledge of automation and control systems such as SCADA and PLC.
