You will be the specialist who will provide technical advice and support for the maintenance of equipment, building fabric, and utility services across the Manchester Foundation Trust Hospital estate. What you’ll do:
* Be part of a multi-skilled team of 8 craftsmen and 4 assistants, working on a 24-hour rotating shift pattern.
* Use specialist knowledge, training, and experience to ensure the safe operation and maintenance of complex plant, equipment, and control systems across the hospital.
* Carry out a variety of planned and emergency mechanical/electrical tasks to a high standard.
* Work efficiently while adhering to Health and Safety, Infection Control, and Permit to Work policies and procedures.
* Respond to emergencies by carrying a pager and mobile phone, prioritizing calls for timely action.
* Communicate with other hospital staff, via Help Desk or directly from the hospital switchboard, to address urgent issues (e.g., fire alarms, lift trappings).
* Work under pressure in emergency situations, ensuring safety and preventing injury or damage.
What you bring:
* Fully qualified Electrician holding a City & Guilds/NVQ qualification to 18th Edition IET Regulations, or equivalent.
* Experience repairing plant and equipment, as well as the ability to fault find, read drawings, diagnose, and repair equipment using your technical knowledge.
* Ability to keep work pace and meet deadlines, along with good organisation skills
* Great communication skills, strong teamwork, and a positive attitude
* Capable of working as part of a team or unsupervised, and of remaining calm under pressure

Package Description

* 37.5 hours per week
* £15.33 - £18.66 per hour
* Recruitment retention payment additional £3,500 per annum
* Standard overtime paid at 1.5x
* Bank holiday overtime paid at 2x
* 27 Days annual leave + bank holidays
* 4 weekly recurring rota
* The successful candidate will be a f ully qualified Electrician holding a City & Guilds/NVQ qualification to 18th Edition IET Regulations, or equivalent.

* Wednesday - Sunday 10pm -6am
Week 2
* Tuesday - Wednesday 10pm - 6am
* Friday - Sunday 6am - 2pm
Week 3
* Tuesday - Thursday 2pm - 10pm
Week 4
* Tuesday - Thursday 6am - 2pm
* Friday - Sunday 2pm - 10pm
