RSW are looking to recruit a Procurement and Logistics Lead for our client, a specialist manufacturer based in Port Talbot. This is a great chance to join a fast moving, global company whose products are helping change businesses all over the world.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager, the Procurement and Logistics Lead is a key role within the Supply Chain Department. As Procurement and Logistics Lead, this role oversees the procurement department supporting and developing the team. You will take ownership of sourcing, negotiating, and managing vendors as well as working closely with internal stakeholders focusing on meeting company strategy.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Create, deliver and monitor KPI's relating to cost, OTD, quality, service and continuity of supply.
2. Support Supply Chain Manager and the team with meeting company strategy.
3. Support and develop procurement team.
4. Prepare RFQs, manage tender processes, and ensure robust evaluation criteria are in place to select optimal suppliers.
5. Build and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers to ensure reliability, quality, and timely delivery of goods and services.
6. Expedite purchased parts as and when required to support production requirements.
7. Negotiate the most competitive prices from suppliers at the best possible terms.
8. Negotiate the most competitive Shipping Terms and Rates continually.
9. Ensure, through close liaison with the other departments, that issues such as returns and shortages are processed effectively and in a timely manner.
10. Ensure quality and performance of supplier materials/parts fall in line with acceptable standards.
11. Work with logistics operations to ensure incoming and outgoing shipments are cleared through customs, items are dispatched in a timely manner, assist with packing and shipping.
12. Understand the need for accuracy in all areas, especially data entry and processing. Be able to resolve issues and work with others to solve problems.
13. Provide direct support to Supply Chain Manager to design and implement new processes and ways of working to improve the efficiency of the procurement organization.
14. Develop our continuous improvement culture within our Supply Chain (both internal and external).
Qualifications & Essential Criteria
1. Ideally +3 years' experience in a similar role within Manufacturing Environment.
2. Strong organisational and communication skills.
