Job Purpose:
The procurement team has undergone significant transformation, requiring a seasoned professional to lead the way. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for mentoring new managers, overseeing procurement processes, and ensuring seamless operations.
Main Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement strategies to manage supplier credit limits, supporting uninterrupted growth and efficiency.
* Maintain an up-to-date approved supplier list with tiered suppliers, ensuring compliance and quality standards.
* Oversee daily Procurement Team operations, focusing on meticulous planning for deliveries and logistics.
* Collaborate with the Commercial Director to negotiate and update supply chain terms, securing deals and managing direct rebates.
* Monitor, develop, and refine Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to uphold quality and efficiency standards.
* Implement and oversee procurement procedures and controls, ensuring operational excellence.
* Strategically manage the materials supply chain for operational efficiency, developing long-term contracts to secure uninterrupted supply.
* Provide detailed weekly reports for senior management, highlighting progress and areas for improvement.
* Engage local suppliers to align with project requirements, fostering strong relationships and delivering results.
* Support the onboarding process for new sub-contractors and suppliers, ensuring seamless integration.
* Update cashflow forecasts based on trends and committed work, maintaining accurate financial projections.
* Lead dispute resolution efforts involving internal and external stakeholders, resolving issues efficiently and effectively.
* Utilize the Protean suite to generate reports for commercial and procurement departments, providing valuable insights and analysis.
* Host regular internal procurement meetings and participate in client meetings as needed, showcasing expertise and building trust.
Requirements:
* Proven experience working in an Operational Procurement role, with a strong track record of success.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with a preference for Access experience.
* Able to identify sourcing initiatives and implement procurement policies and processes, driving continuous improvement.
* Strong negotiation skills and the ability to performance manage suppliers, securing optimal outcomes.
* Excellent communication skills at all levels, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
* Influencing skills with other managers and stakeholders, building strong relationships and driving results.
* High personal integrity, with a commitment to ethical behavior and professionalism.

Benefits:
This is a full-time onsite permanent role offering a competitive salary of £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, along with excellent benefits including free parking.
