Job summary The Technical Analyst, Commercial Liaison is responsible for liaising with committee appraisal teams and with NHS England (NHSE). They will provide an assessment of commercial risk at an early stage and develop detailedtechnical briefings to inform and support NHSE in their commercial engagements with technology developers. The post holder will be required to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, NHSE, and external stakeholder groups, and contribute to the development of high-quality methodological practice across the Commercial and Managed Access Programme and the Appraisals Programme. The job holder will have skills in health economics, healthcare commissioning, clinical evidence, epidemiology or related areas, will be commercially confident and will be an enthusiastic analyst with a relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g. health economics, public health, clinical pharmacology, health service research). This is a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. The cover is anticipated to be from May 2025 until May 2026. Contract type: Fixed term or secondment Main duties of the job The Technical Analyst plays a key role in providing technical expertise on the commercial elements of Health Technology Assessment, working alongside the Technical Adviser on a portfolio of projects. Responsibilities include: Developing and supporting the early identification of appraisal topics with high commercial risk Preparing and presenting structured briefings of evidence and specialist advice to facilitate effective commercial engagement by NHSE, including selecting the key evidence to be presented Working with the Technology Appraisal Stakeholders, Advisory Committees and external Technology Assessment Groups Frequent use of standard office management software and manipulation of economic models in specialised software packages.
