* Salary: £30,559 - £35,235 per annum (plus contractual overtime)
* Hours: 40 hours per week (37 hours plus 3 contractual hours overtime)

What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a motivated individual to join the street cleansing crew as Mechanical Sweeper Driver and Street Cleanser within our Public Realm team. The successful candidate will share our values and commitment to making a difference for our residents, clients, and communities.
About The Role
The Public Realm Team is responsible for the day-to-day management of the district councils’ countryside sites and open spaces, including parks, local nature reserves, and play areas. This role will be based at our Stowmarket depot, playing a key part in keeping the district and public open spaces clean, tidy, and welcoming.
As a Mechanical Sweeper Driver and Street Cleanser, you will be responsible for delivering a range of street cleansing services, including the use of specialized mechanical sweeping vehicles (including HGVs), other cleansing machinery, and litter control duties.
The role requires weekend working on a rota basis, with time off in lieu for additional hours worked.
About You
You will be experienced in street cleansing or a related role and enjoy working outside, either individually or as part of a team. You will need to demonstrate:
* Your street cleansing experience and proficiency in a range of tasks
* Ability to operate street sweeping vehicles
* Good communication skills with the public and colleagues
* A proactive and flexible approach
* Awareness of Health and Safety at Work Act
* Computer literacy and the ability to maintain accurate work records
You must hold a full HGV driving licence and have experience in driving mechanical sweepers.
