Mechanical Technician - Renewables - Berkshire - £40k to £45k
Hours: Monday to Thursday 9:00am to 5:30pm (9:00am – 5:00pm Friday), with scope for flexibility between 8:00am and 6:00pm.

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Mechanical Technician to join our team, working on advanced renewables systems and associated technologies. This role will involve maintaining, troubleshooting, and refining mechanical systems to support prototyping, manufacturing, and production operations.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of cutting-edge systems, with a focus on fluid systems, regulators, hydrogen compression, and mechanical assemblies. This position is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical background and a proactive approach to solving technical challenges.
System Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of systems and associated components.
Assist in the build, refinement, and testing of prototype systems, providing feedback to improve performance and reliability.
Work closely with the engineering team to optimise mechanical systems, including regulators, pressure systems, and hydrogen compression technology.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure all work adheres to regulatory and safety standards, particularly in fluid and pressure systems.
Accurately record maintenance activities, test results, and technical adjustments.
Coordinate with technicians, engineers, and production teams to meet operational goals and project timelines.
Mechanical Expertise: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, particularly fluid systems, regulators, and pressure-based equipment.
Experience in industries such as hydrogen compression, oil and gas, or renewable energy systems is highly desirable.
Hands-On Experience: Skilled in using tools and equipment for mechanical assembly, maintenance, and repair.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with compliance and safety standards for mechanical and pressure systems.
Background in prototyping or working with advanced manufacturing technologies.
Formal mechanical engineering qualifications or relevant certifications.
