Job summary We currently have an exciting vacancy for a Regional Practice Education Facilitator (PEF) to work across primary care services in North Wales. The role is advertised as a full-time (37.5 hours) Band 7 secondment opportunity until 31.03.26, due to funding. The post is open to registered nurses with a background in education or training in a clinical practice environment. Post holders work with the HEIW Head of Placement Experience and Improvement and HEIW Primary and Community Care Education & Training Team to facilitate regional plans to expand placement opportunities for nursing students in GP Surgeries and local neighbourhood services across Wales. Engaging with HEIW, Welsh Universities, local Primary Care Academies, relevant Health Boards, and wider stakeholders, the postholder will oversee agreed targeted increases of nursing student placements within designated regions of responsibility and explore further interprofessional learning opportunities. HEIW is seeking highly motivated, committed, and creative individual, who shares an ambition to work collaboratively to help drive practice learning placements in the primary care sector. Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for the delivery and day-to-day operation of plans to open up nursing student placements in GP Surgeries in the North Wales region. They will work with designated GP Surgeries, HEIW, Welsh Universities, local Primary Care Academies, Health Boards, and operational support staff working within the remit of the programme, in planning and coordinating required tasks, projects or programmes of work. They will work closely with internal partners and external stakeholders to build and maintain strong working relationships to ensure the continued success and further development of pre-registration nursing student placement experiences in primary and community care. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. This post is being offered as a secondment opportunity only.
