Job summary We are excited to be recruiting into our new co-located UTC area in Yeovil District hospital, part of Somerset Foundation Trust. We need a dynamic individual to join our team of practitioners who work within our UTC. The focus of this role will be the management of both adults and paediatrics who present with minor illness and injuries. There will also be opportunities to manage other patient presentations in the UTC, which will provide good development opportunities. The successful applicant should be an autonomous practitioner from any relevant healthcare background and must have assessment, diagnostic and management skills with experience in an appropriate setting. Main duties of the job Yeovil Hospital is a forward-thinking innovative organisation. UTCs provide a consistent urgent treatment offer to the public, to reduce attendance at emergency departments and to improve patient access, experience, and care. The service will treat patients of all ages who present with minor ailments and injury. UTCs operate as part of a networked model of urgent care, working closely with system partners including primary and community care to flow patients to the most appropriate service according to their need, and therefore will offer referral pathways into ED and specialist services as required. UTCs allow for both pre-booked and 'walk-in' attendances.
