The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Sales to lead, inspire, and manage our Sales teams. The Director of Sales will play a key role in driving our sales strategy, optimizing performance, and fostering strong relationships with both new and existing trade clients.
As a pivotal member of the leadership team, you will guide your sales executives, supporting their professional growth while ensuring we consistently meet and exceed client expectations. Your industry knowledge and strategic oversight will be essential in achieving our sales objectives and maintaining high standards across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of Sales Executives, ensuring high performance and continuous development. Foster a culture of excellence, supporting your team in overcoming challenges and helping them reach their full potential.
* Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth across trade (B2B) channels. Oversee the management of client accounts and ensure the smooth delivery of sales targets across your team.
* Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with key clients. Address escalated client issues and provide solutions to ensure satisfaction, while also driving new client acquisition.
* Generate and analyze sales reports, using data to provide actionable insights and drive performance. Ensure that your team is aligned with sales targets and consistently exceeds expectations.
* Work closely with other departments, including operations and marketing, to optimize the customer experience and ensure a seamless process for both internal teams and clients.
* Manage day-to-day sales operations, including reporting, performance tracking, and administrative tasks. Provide operational support to the Group Head of Sales as required.
* Provide continuous training and coaching to the team, ensuring they are equipped with the tools and knowledge needed to excel in their roles. Address performance gaps and foster a high-performance sales culture.
* Act as a champion of our company’s values, ensuring that these are embedded in daily operations and reflected in all interactions, both internally and externally.
Key Skills Required
* Strong experience leading, managing, and motivating sales teams. Ability to set clear goals and hold the team accountable while offering support and guidance.
* Solid knowledge and experience of the interiors, furniture, and luxury sales industry. Familiarity with trade (B2B) sales is highly desirable.
* Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively—both with clients and internal teams.
* A results-oriented individual with a passion for exceeding sales targets. Proven ability to drive revenue growth through effective leadership and client management.
* Strong organizational abilities, able to manage multiple priorities and deliver within deadlines and budgets.
* Comfort with analyzing sales data and using insights to drive performance improvements. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with SAP is a plus.
* Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships across teams and departments, as well as with clients and stakeholders.
Accountabilities
* Oversee the sales team, ensuring they meet targets and provide excellent service to trade clients. Act as a key support figure, stepping in to address complex client issues when necessary.
* Drive revenue growth through existing client relationships and the acquisition of new clients. Lead your team towards achieving collective sales goals.
* Support the Group Head of Sales with strategic and operational initiatives. Ensure the sales department is aligned with business objectives and is operating efficiently.
* Take a hands-on approach in managing high-value client accounts, ensuring that customer satisfaction is consistently achieved.
* Lead ongoing training and coaching programs, helping your team improve their skills and knowledge in sales, product offerings, and client management.
