Now an exciting opportunity has arisen within our Engineering Department as we are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, experienced and highly motivated Lecturer to join our successful team.
Applicants are invited from an Electrical and Electronic Engineering background ideally able to deliver a range of technical subjects in Electrical/ Electronic and Control Engineering such as advanced engineering technologies, embedded systems, PLCs, robotics, control systems, communication systems and automation. The successful applicant will teach across a range of Electrical and Electronic Engineering courses that may be full time, part time and or HE programmes, to students typically studying at level 1 to level 5 including Electrical and Electronic Engineering specialism T-Levels and / or HNC / HND / HTQs dependent on prior industrial / teaching experience.
Applicants should therefore hold:
1. A Level 2 qualification in maths and English (or equivalent) as a minimum.
2. A full teaching qualification at Level 5 or above or be willing to work towards obtaining one. If you do not hold a suitable teaching qualification, the College will support you to obtain this as part of our investment in your professional development.
3. A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
The key responsibilities of the role include delivering theoretical and practical knowledge and managing and conducting assessments in line with awarding organisation guidelines. Ensuring learner progress is tracked and maintained on College IT systems, and retention and achievement levels are maintained and improved. Knowledge of IV processes are desirable together with the ability to appraise courses using a range of quality and performance indicators.
Previous experience of working in a training environment or of working with young people is desirable but not essential as support is available for exceptional candidates yet to achieve qualified teacher status who are able to demonstrate commitment to developing others. An ability to demonstrate appropriate IT skills will be required including working remotely to provide distance learning and support to cohorts of students as required.
