Warehouse Operative Job type: Temporary - Permanent Hours: Full-time 7:30am- 4pm, Friday 6am-1pm (Shifts may be subject to change) Salary: £12.27/h Location: Wigton (rural) We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Operative. As a Warehouse Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse, handling goods, assisting with inventory management, and supporting the production process. Key Responsibilities: Safely and efficiently load and unload goods from delivery trucks. Move materials and finished products to and from designated storage areas. Organise and maintain inventory levels, ensuring stock is stored correctly and easily accessible. Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet trucks, forklifts, and other machinery (training provided). Assist with the preparation and packaging of mattress orders for delivery. Ensure that the warehouse is kept clean, tidy, and free of hazards. Work with the warehouse team to monitor stock levels, report shortages, and assist with stock replenishment. Handle goods with care to prevent damage during transport or storage. Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies while working in the warehouse. Assist with stocktaking and inventory checks on a regular basis. Report any maintenance or equipment issues to the relevant supervisor. Provide support to other departments as needed. Key Requirements: Previous warehouse experience (preferred but not essential). Ability to operate manual handling equipment and machinery (training will be provided). Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. A good understanding of health and safety practices. Flexibility to work different shifts as needed, including evenings and weekends. Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy items when required.
