The Role The Finance Director/Vice President of Finance will report to the CEO and work as a key member of the senior leadership team. They will be responsible for developing Alchemab’s financial management strategy and contributing to the organisation’s strategic goals. Responsibilities Key member of the senior leadership team, providing direct support to the CEO and acting as a trusted business partner to the CEO, COO, Board, and Investors. Implementing financial systems and processes for the company within the UK locations Full responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, planning & analysis, including R&D tax credits Providing top-notch financial reports to the business, the board, and investors/partners. Identification and mitigation of risks, compliance, and adherence to regulations Building, leading and managing a small finance team Providing 'hands-on' operational financial support and business partnering, promoting an environment where budget holders are fully informed about their budgets and short/long-term forecasting. Developing and improving processes, procedures and controls, including implementation of forward-looking financial systems to anticipate company growth Oversight of the company’s legal and financial obligations, Company secretarial function Support the CEO and leadership team in financing activities, including contributing to business planning and strategy, scenario planning, partnering, and investor due diligence. Ownership of the Company’s cap table Responsibility for the company’s share option scheme and corporate insurance. Profile Skilled accountant with experience in rapidly scaling venture capital-backed start-ups. Recognized as a strong business partner to the CEO, the VP Finance/Finance Director is equally comfortable providing high-level strategic guidance and delving into the details. Exposure to pharmaceuticals, biotech and therapeutic R&D is preferred Analytical, mathematical, and data-driven approach with advanced Excel and financial modelling skills. Must have the ability to use data analytics tools and experience with the implementation and use of robust financial systems.
