Applications are invited for the post of Research Assistant in the Malerba lab, Department of Biological Sciences
We are looking to appoint an energetic graduate scientist with excellent skills in Molecular Biology. The successful applicant will join a leading international research team evaluating novel ways to enhance gene therapy and gene transfer systems. They will be responsible for assisting in a project aimed at improving microdystrophin protein expression in Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
The successful candidate is expected to have some experience with cell culture and be proactive in seeking opportunities to learn new skills and assist with a variety of other lab-based tasks. A willingness to work with in vivo models is essential. Additionally, the candidate should be able to work independently to design, execute, and interpret experimental research programs, although training and supervision will be provided as necessary.
Post is available for 12 months, with the possibility of extension for a further 12 months.
