Starting Salary: £48056 - £49895 per annum plus benefits To find out more about the job please click the ‘apply for job’ button to be taken to Imperial job site About the role Applications are invited for a Research Associate position in the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College London, funded by the Royal Society Tata University Research Fellowship on \\\"Stable big bangs and black holes in general relativity.\\\" What you would be doing The successful candidate will work closely with Dr Martin Taylor and the analysis group at Imperial College on some aspects of the Royal Society Tata University Research Fellowship on \\\"Stable big bangs and black holes in general relativity.\\\" This position is well-suited for candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: analysis of the Einstein equations, hyperbolic partial differential equations, kinetic theory, general relativity. What we are looking for The essential requirements for this post are as follows: A PhD or equivalent level of professional qualifications and/or experience in analysis of partial differential equations and general relativity, or closely related fields Clear evidence of outstanding promise and originality in research, with a good publication record, commensurate with career stage A broad and strong background in partial differential equations and general relativity Ability to carry out original research and to produce published research papers Ability to identify, develop, and implement new concepts, techniques, and methods Ability to organise own work independently Ability to prioritise own work in response to deadlines Ability to work with others, especially postdocs and graduate students Excellent verbal communication skills including the ability to deal with a wide range of people, and to communicate complex information clearly What we can offer you The opportunity to continue your career at a world-leading institution and be part of our mission to continue science for humanity. Further information The position is fixed term for 12 months. The expected start date is 1 September 2025.
