To be successful as a Lead Architect, you should have experience with:
* Financial services Banking/Cards/Loans & creating transitional architectures that leverage heritage systems.
* Influencing skills to solve difficult problems whilst making complex architecture trade-offs.
* Leading by example, delivering artifacts that set the standard across solutions, architecture, designs, and engineering.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
* Ability to manage technical product selection processes, scope & execute Tech spikes/PoCs.
* Experience in architecting systems that operate within public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP).

This role will be based in our Knutsford office.
Purpose of the role:
To design, develop, and implement solutions to complex business problems, collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements, and design and implement solutions that meet those needs while balancing technology risks against business delivery, driving consistency.
Accountabilities:
* Design and develop solutions as products that can evolve, meeting business requirements that align with modern software engineering practices and automated delivery tooling, including the identification and implementation of the technologies and platforms.
* Conduct targeted design activities that apply appropriate workload placement strategies and maximise the benefits of cloud capabilities such as elasticity, serverless, and containerisation.
* Incorporate best practice designs with security principles (such as defence in depth and reduction of blast radius) that meet the Bank’s resiliency expectations.
* Deliver solutions that appropriately balance risks and controls to provide agreed business and technology value.
* Adopt standardised solutions where applicable; if no standard solutions fit, contribute to their ongoing evolution where appropriate.
* Support operational teams with fault finding and performance issues, leveraging available tooling.
* Conduct solution design impact assessments in terms of risk, capacity, and cost impact, including estimation of project change and ongoing run costs.
* Develop the requisite architecture inputs required to comply with the bank's governance processes, including design artefacts needed for architecture, privacy, security, and records management governance processes.
Vice President Expectations:
