The Opportunity Due to workload, there is an opportunity where a Senior EC&I Engineer is required to support various Nuclear projects. You will work with a leading and established engineering consultancy that boasts they have supported the majority of nuclear licensed sites in the UK and who has support from other offices that support projects across Europe. Your duties and responsibilities will be: As the Senior EC&I Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the Principal EC&I Engineer in delivering one or more design projects or leading small EC&I project tasks with the support of other engineers. These designs will cover the full project life cycle from concept design through to manufacture and commissioning. This could include: Delivering design project deliverables. Producing the required EC&I design documents and drawings to the standards, procedures and requirements set out by the project under supervision. Be responsible for the coordination, planning and delivery of designs in accordance with the required standards, procedures and requirements set out by the project. You will have the following qualifications & experience: Minimum qualification for this role is an HNC or equivalent qualification in electrical or control engineering or similar engineering. Experienced in interfacing with other technical disciplines is desirable. Previous experience in a Nuclear Site or other highly regulated site. Familiarity with AMTECH ProDesign (or similar cable calculation software), AutoCAD design and BIM projects Ability to independently seek out or develop one’s own answer to challenging technical questions and confidently liaise with external stakeholders and team members, both oral and written. The successful candidate must, by the start of the employment, have permission to work in the UK, and be willing to obtain the required level of security clearance. The setting for the role: This role will be predominantly office based however, should you visit site - Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels.
