Principal Product Safety Engineer

What you’ll be doing:
* Leading a small team developing a functional Safety Case
* Managing the production of a functional Safety Case to a defined schedule, reporting to a Safety Engineering Manager
* Undertaking complex safety analysis using techniques such as Fault Tree Analysis and Event Tree Analysis
* Producing written functional safety justifications
* Liaising with a wide range of stakeholders both external and internal to the business, typically System Engineers, Human Factors Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), etc.
Your skills and experiences:
* STEM Degree or relevant experience
* Experience in leading a small team
* Experience in delivering functional Safety Cases
* Experience in complex safety analysis and justification
* Experience related to Vehicle Control and Complex Control Systems

The Product Safety team:
If you are interested in understanding submarine operations and how the Royal Navy manages submarines, then this role is for you. As a Product Safety Engineer, you will assist System Engineers in influencing submarine systems and capability development. You will develop an understanding of submarine systems and ensure that system interactions consider Product Safety appropriately.
The role offers involvement in all aspects of safety management and safety case delivery, including safety requirements management, hazard identification and analysis, hazard data management, application of the ALARP principle, creation and maintenance of safety documentation, and continuous improvement of the safety management system. Relocation support packages are available across all submarine roles, subject to eligibility.
