This interesting role would suit either an experienced Paralegal or a Legal Assistant looking to take the next step in their career to join a specialist in-house team. We are looking for drive, energy and focus.
You will need to have a proficient and flexible approach and work well at pace within a team environment. Attention to detail is key, as are strong communication skills both written and verbal. You will also need to possess excellent IT skills and be meticulous and thorough in order to deliver high quality work.
You will be fully involved in all aspects of the private client department. The role will involve supporting qualified practitioners with client matters and case management, and will include drafting and preparing documents, carrying out research, and dealing with new enquiries on behalf of the department. You will also carry out general administration tasks as required. Previous legal study and work experience in the legal sector is essential. A law degree is desirable.
Core duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* To undertake and manage elements of fee earning work, under supervision, accurately, reliably, efficiently and in accordance with the department, firm and SRA regulation and procedures.
* To prepare correspondence and other documents as required using approved precedents and case management systems.
* Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and spoken.
* Development of legal knowledge in the chosen area(s) of law in accordance with SRA continuing professional development requirements by personal attendance at training courses, webinars, self-study, and perusal of reference material.
* Reporting to your Head of Department with any concerns and/or queries.
* Compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct and SRA Accounts Rules.
