Job description: Vacancy - Operations Supervisor Are youexcited by the opportunity to supervise a team of operatives in a fast paced, operational environment? Do you want to work for one of the UKs leading Port Operators? We are seeking a Supervisor to join our team in Liverpool and help keep the world moving Your Role Working within the Liverpool Steels and Metals department, you will be responsible for leading the team and ensuring they start the day with the appropriate safety instructions, providing guidance throughout the day to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently. You will keep up to date with changes to Health and Safety legislation, supervising lifting operations, vessel discharge and ensuring safe and efficient use of plant and equipment. You will conduct risk assessments (including dynamic risk assessments), compiling information and completing reports for management. Raising Hazard Observations and doing site inspections to maintain a safe working environment. As Supervisor, you will be accountable for ensuring the safe and correct delivery of cargo to the customers and vessel cargo handling operations, as well as mentoring and developing operatives on site. The Supervisor position is a multi-function role, predominantly in Cargo Operations but with a requirement to apply your skills across other bulk terminals, dependent upon experience, training and business needs. What you'll bring You willhave previous operational experience, ideally gained working within a Ports/Logistics environment, combined with experience of lifting operations, managing stores, RF Gun and mobile plant usage. Previous vessel supervision experience is advantageous. You will have excellent IT and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external parties. Extensive knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and best practice is key. You will have a flexible approach to shift work over nights and weekends. Who are we?
