I am recruiting Assistant Quantity Surveyors for a Tier 1 national construction business based in Berkshire but initially to work on a new office and lab scheme and a Data Centre in Slough.
The company is a recognised brand with a turnover in excess of a billion per year but still retains a family feel to the business in terms of values and how they treat staff, clients, and the wider supply chain. They work on frameworks and negotiated schemes in the education, health care, retail, and development, office, and data marketplaces. Project values range from £25 to £90 million, and they are with the client every step of the way offering advice, support, and finding new and innovative ways of working.
Your duties will be to work with the estimating and bid teams to firm up prices and costs for each package based on the initial bids, compile a working scope of works and bill of quantities for each package, and work with the supply chain to establish how each phase will be delivered. Place orders, arrange pre-start meetings, and then manage the scheme in conjunction with the delivery team, carrying out the standard QS role of valuations, payments, remeasures, managing variation accounts, CVRs, and weekly, monthly reporting and forecasting through to final account all under the supervision of a Senior QS who will help with your training and development.
The initial schemes are a new build office and lab scheme valued at £30 million and 2 Data Centres valued at £25 million each.
The role would be ideal for someone looking to expand their knowledge and training, as they are one of the best in the industry at training, development, and promoting internal talent based on hard work and results. If you are looking to join a progressive, forward-thinking company that will develop and help you achieve your goals and ambitions, then this could be the role for you.
They are open to people from main contractors, regional specialists, as well as established subcontractors within the industry.
If you are still on day release or remote/distance learning with a degree, they will be open to transferring the course across and covering the outstanding training costs as well as funding additional training such as RICS accreditation.
