The KS2 Teacher Job
We are seeking a Special Educational Needs, Primary Teacher for a vibrant and Outstanding rated school in Brixton, specialising in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) in KS2 for Summer term start. These classes are mixed and the students are working from an EYFS curriculum which has been tailored to suit the needs of the individual students as they develop routines and establish independence in their school journey.

The successful KS2 Teacher applicant would be joining an outstanding SEN school in Brixton for children with severe learning difficulties. The school provides a range of unique enabling environments, both indoor and outdoor, which are used to maximise learning opportunities and meet pupil's specific needs and allows the students to gain independence and life skills.
KS2 Teacher Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement personalised educational programs based on an EYFS curriculum that promotes Independence, decision making and an introduction to the curriculum.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and educational psychologists.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as the primary teacher in the classroom.
- Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school.
- Work with and lead a support team within the classroom
KS2 Teacher Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of ASD and SLD.
- Experience working in a primary education setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
