The Exciting Role
A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Higher Technical Technician as our University Centre continues to expand its undergraduate offer. The college is part of the Lancashire & Cumbria Institute of Technology, and the Engineering offer forms a major part of this provision. We have one programme offered as a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) and we offer a degree apprenticeship for Engineering too.
The successful candidate will be primarily based at the Accrington University Centre overseeing the function of the Engineering and Sustainability Lab but will be required to travel across sites and will have set days for delivery at the Nelson University Centre.
What You Will Be Doing:
* Maintaining a safe working environment for students and staff at all times within your designated areas within the College, in line with all relevant Health & Safety and Risk Management procedures.
* Carrying out safety checks on equipment and carry out maintenance, arrange for servicing, repair or replacement as necessary.
* Providing support and technical instruction to laboratory classes and related outdoor activities.
* Operating various equipment and collect data as required.
* Be responsible for managing access to laboratory equipment
* To monitor consumable stock levels and initiate any ordering of materials as required
What We Are Looking For:
* 4 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C or above
* Level 3 qualification or equivalent in an Engineering subject
* HNC/D Engineering (any pathway)
