Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston Foundation Trust for three Clinical Teaching Fellows (ST Grade) in Medical Education based in Weston General Hospital (North Somerset Academy). These are full time, non rota posts and are available for one year commencing 6 August 2025. The posts offer the opportunity to become intensively involved in the education of medical students whilst maintaining clinical exposure and experience in a supportive educational environment. These posts are suitable for those who have just completed their Foundation Programme training as well as those who have undertaken ST1-2 training. You must have been in paid employment in the NHS for a minimum of 2 years. You will be joining a wider team of Clinical Teaching Fellows (in other Academies) to become part of a faculty that has the specific remit of teaching medical students.
Main duties of the job
The prime function of the post is as a teacher delivering core content and providing tutoring and pastoral support for Medical Students in years 2-5 of the Undergraduate curriculum of the University of Bristol. Clinical Teaching Fellows are expected to undertake a Medical Education Certificate course of their choosing (from an approved list) and there is also an expectation that CTFs will be involved in educational research, and there is a good track record of successful projects.
9 sessions a week will be allocated to Teaching and one session is allocated for clinical work in an area of your choosing.

Qualifications and Training
Essential
* MBBS (or equivalent)
* Current full registration with the GMC
* Completed Foundation Training programme or equivalent in a UK hospital, by commencement of the post.
* Must have worked in paid employment in the NHS for a minimum of 2 years
Desirable
* Good Academic Record
* Intercalated BSc/higher degree
* Part 1 MRCP/MRCS
* ACLS/ATLS/APLS

* Ability to perform routine procedures including e.g. lumbar puncture etc.
