Salary/Rate: £45K - £48K plus 5%-7% bonus performance dependent

As a Test Lead, you will take responsibility for leading all tasks for a testing workstream, ensuring that the testing conducted fulfills business requirements. You will do this by liaising with the project teams and developers to fully understand user requirements and expected system impact to ensure delivery is successful.
This role is all about playing a key part of the project life cycle, from a quality and testing perspective and be the driving force behind making efficiency improvements and building strong relationships. You will be required to vocalise issues and/or concerns to project team and developers efficiently. If you are someone who enjoys testing to a high standard and learning different parts of the business and system to avoid issues in production, this role is perfect for you.
You will need to be comfortable being involved from the start to finish of the software development life cycle, contributing at every stage - specifically taking full responsibility between development and User Acceptance Testing.
This is a position in a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines will require perseverance.
This role will be primarily based in the Compass UK&I offices in Birmingham within the wider QA Test Team.
Job Responsibilities/Objectives
1. Reporting progress to the relevant project audience.
2. Working to actively anticipate and where they exist, to remove blockers to progress.
3. Fully supporting all test activity of Test Analysts within the testing workstream.
4. The ability to understand and analyse technical documentation and have an awareness of quality requirements for software development projects.
5. Translate functional requirements and specifications into detailed test cases.
6. Writing your own Test Plans and Status Reports.
7. Running daily triage during test execution phase.
8. Perform manual testing for a range of software products.
9. Document test strategy and approach.
10. Execute test cases and analyse results.
11. Reporting, logging, tracking and managing defects in Azure Dev Ops.
12. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
13. Identify and escalate any risks and issues where appropriate.
14. Managing Test Analysts to support project of work.
15. Training new Test Analysts who have joined the team.
Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:
1. Previous Test Analyst/Lead experience (5 to 8 years)
2. Previous manual testing experience of the following types of testing: systems, integration, regression
3. Experience in handling multiple project test cycles at one time
4. Qualified to ISTQB Practitioner level (or at least Foundation level)
5. Experience using Azure Dev Ops
6. Experience using SAP desirable
7. Experience in Payroll Testing & Process Analysis
8. Experience or Knowledge of Test Automation
9. Experience of working within Complex Environments of integration
10. Experience of working towards strict deadlines and execution targets
11. Experience of working within Agile Test Environments
