Job Details:
To lead a team and manage procedures in respect of the Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA), New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA) and Highways Act 1980.
The Council has a statutory duty under the Traffic Management Act 2004 to ensure the safe and expeditious movement of traffic. The Network Management team is responsible for ensuring that all works affecting the highway are coordinated, carried out safely and with minimum disruption.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Lead a small team to ensure that all works, events, and unplanned incidents on the highway network are coordinated, safe, and cause minimum disruption to road users.
2. Motivate, develop, and coach staff to achieve Corporate Plan, Departmental Plan, and Service Plan objectives.
3. Support the management of workloads in your area to achieve the service plan in order to deliver Value for Money services to customers in line with Council priorities, ensuring that the work incorporates the council's cultural values.
4. Assist with the management and achievement of the service plan for your area so that it achieves its corporate and service objectives and outcomes.
5. Promote and deliver positive solutions to achieving diversity and equality in all aspects of service delivery and community engagement areas, focusing on equality of outcome.
6. Maintain effective consultation and communications with staff, service users, Councillors, trade unions, partners, and other stakeholders.
