Peer Support Worker
Hours: 20 hours per week
Service open hours: Monday-Sunday 18:00 to 23:00, 365 days a year (shifts)
Salary: GBP12,202 per annum with progression on completion of competency framework GBP12,757 per annum (FTE GBP22,880 - GBP23,920)

About the role
As a Peer Support Worker within our service, you will work alongside our Recovery Workers and other colleagues to offer practical and emotional support to people by drawing directly from your own lived experiences. Your work will include supporting people to achieve their own recovery goals in a personalised non-judgement way. We offer a range of support to the people who use our service which can include:
1. Confidence building and understanding their experiences
2. Signposting to other opportunities and services in the local community and supporting to access these
3. Support and advice to encourage a sense of hope and wellbeing
4. Help people gain satisfaction in different parts of their lives
About you
To be successful in these roles, you will have experience or knowledge of community mental health services, whether through lived experience or work. You will have experience of communicating with people who have difficulties with their mental health, or are having difficulties following a diagnosis, in a supportive and beneficial way and be able to demonstrate a proactive and positive attitude.
