Administrator - SEND Assessment Team - Bolton Council
Location: Smithills, Bolton, BL1 6JS
Job Type: Full-time, temporary
Contract: Initial 3 months with potential to extend or apply for a permanent position
Bolton Council is looking for a dedicated Administrator to support the SEND Assessment Service in fulfilling its statutory duties effectively and efficiently. This role is integral to the smooth operation of the service and requires a proactive individual who can work at pace, managing a variety of tasks and communicating effectively with various stakeholders.
Day to Day of the Role:
1. Manage the administration of the EHC Needs Assessment Process.
2. Provide updates on the EHC Needs Assessment process and the Annual Review process to users of the SEND Assessment Service. Relevant training provided.
3. Work effectively with team members to support and improve the work of the team.
4. Plan, organise, and develop work to meet specified requirements and deadlines. This is an essential part of the role, you will be working to strict statutory deadlines.
5. Record, store, and supply information accurately.
6. Communicate information to relevant agencies using systems available.
7. Support and maintain the use of information systems including databases.
8. Design, create, and produce documents from various sources to specified deadlines.
9. Prepare and maintain documents for storage and archiving following Service and Council guidelines.
10. Manage mail/email inboxes, including ordering and distributing specified goods and services.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships and respond appropriately to the needs of colleagues and customers.
2. Ability to work at pace to meet essential deadlines.
3. Teamwork skills.
4. Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise workloads, ensuring deadlines are met.
5. Competency in inputting, searching, storing, retrieving, and supplying information from a variety of sources.
6. Proficiency in producing documents using a range of software.
7. Awareness/Knowledge of GDPR.
8. Experience using a range of computer software packages.
