We are proud to support an independent day school that is currently seeking a learning support assistant to join their dedicated, close-knit team. These roles are vital in providing exceptional care, education and support to students, particularly those who are vulnerable. Working with students aged 5 -16, the school prioritises students wellbeing while offering opportunities for students to succeed.
The students you will be supporting may come from diverse and, in some cases, challenging backgrounds, with some also having ADHD or autism. As such, it is essential that you feel confident in managing challenging behaviour.
The school takes a therapeutic approach to education, prioritising the development of meaningful relationships to create a nurturing and supportive environment where students can thrive. This approach has led to excellent attendance rates and successful student outcomes.
As an LSA, your key responsibilities will include:
* Inspiring and nurturing students both in and out of the classroom
* Providing support to small groups or working one-on-one, depending on individual student needs
* Assisting classroom teachers to help students engage and succeed in their learning
The ideal candidate will be positive, empathetic, and resilient, with a strong passion for supporting young people. Experience or knowledge of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs is highly desirable.
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 15:30 during term time. There may be an opportunity for the position to become permanent if you demonstrate your value to the school.
