Business Support Officer Hourly Rate: £13.26 PAYE Location: Darton, Barnsley, S75 (Hybrid working) Job Type: Full-time We are seeking a Business Support Officer to provide an effective support service to a diverse range of front line and statutory services, adhering to relevant government legislation and guidelines. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in business support within a dynamic and regulatory environment. Day-to-day of the role: Provide efficient and confidential business support to front line and statutory services. Handle telephone and face-to-face enquiries, offering advice, guidance, and support to both internal and external customers. Respond to various types of correspondence and manage incoming and outgoing information effectively. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining excellent communication and information links. Support statutory meetings, including the accurate and speedy recording of decisions directly onto electronic forms and templates. Organise and coordinate meetings, manage diaries and appointments, ensuring all arrangements are suitable for attendees. Undertake project work and research, ensuring deliverables are of high quality and completed within deadlines. Analyse data, evaluate information, and produce reports suitable for a range of audiences including senior managers and public members. Perform administrative duties efficiently amidst interruptions and conflicting demands. Assist in the design and development of internal business support systems to enhance service efficiency. Maintain electronic and paper-based systems, ensuring accuracy and appropriate storage of information. Handle financial administration tasks such as placing orders, reconciling, and processing payments. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in a business support environment, dealing with confidential and sensitive information. Experience in undertaking research and providing comprehensive reports. Familiarity with financial information management and problem-solving related to payments and billing. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with a variety of stakeholders. Proficiency in managing large volumes of information, both manually and electronically, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Ability to address problems thoroughly and reach logical conclusions.
