St Johns Surgery is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Practice Nurse. We have an increasing patient population and are therefore seeking to expand our current nursing provision. Candidates interested in working both part-time and full-time will be considered. We are willing to consider applicants who wish to work from 25 hours to 37.5 hours per week. Please specify the number of hours that you wish to work on your application. The actual working hours will be subject to discussion at interview.
Main duties of the job
The role will be an integral part of the nursing team. The ideal candidate will already have GP Practice experience and be fully trained in childhood immunisation, cytology, contraception, travel vaccination and the administration of complex dressings. However, we may be willing to provide support and training for a suitable candidate who still needs development in one or more of these areas.
About us
St Johns Surgery is a well-established Practice in Bromsgrove with a list size of over 15,500 patients. We moved to our present location in the Bromsgrove Healthcare Innovations purpose built complex over 10 years ago and we also have a branch dispensing surgery in nearby Wychbold village.
Our last CQC rating in December 2018 was Good in all areas. We are a training practice, with registrars and medical students from the University of Birmingham.
There is a strong team ethos across the whole practice. We are therefore looking for the right person to join us and invite interested candidates to get in touch to find out more about the role and the practice as a whole. Informal discussion with the lead partner responsible for the nursing team is welcomed as are visits to the surgery.
Job responsibilities
We are committed to a patient-centred approach and offer a full range of primary care and enhanced services to patients in friendly, modern and comfortable surroundings. These include contraception and sexual health (including IUD, IUS, implant fitting), chronic disease management, over 40s health checks, minor surgery and joint injections, immunisations, travel clinics, warfarin monitoring, leg ulcer management and phlebotomy.
